01 April 2013 we have received a notice for non payment of stamp duty on share certificate which were issued in 2012, now please tell me what should i do and there is any remedy if yes plz help me its urgent and in notice stamp duty alongwith penalty of 10times of amt of duty is demanded.

You just reply the letter that we are unable to pay stamp duty due to lack of knowledge or not aware aboout payment of duty or any reason which u feel fit to give.

You mention the con donation of delay of paying duty in letter also.

03 April 2013 but sir my boss told me yesterday that penalty can be waived bu the deppt. if sufficient cause is shown now i dont know what are the sufficient cause. Please help me sir

03 April 2013 Penality will be imposed if you have made default, however, it can be nominal, but can not be waived.
