07 July 2011 I have recently registered a company for Service Tax.

The 1st return will be due in October, i wanted to know:
Q.1 What are the documents to be attached with the return?

Q.2 Do we have to attach any extra documents if we are filing the return for the first time?

Q.3 If we want to file the return through ACES Website, then do we also have to submit the hard copy to the superintendent?

Q.4 Can we pay taxes manually through GAR 7 and file return online. Or we have to pay taxes also online if we want to file online return. ( Total ST liability is below 10 lakhs)

2. NO YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED ANY EXTRA DOCUMENT TO SUBMIT ALONGWITH RETURN HOWEVER IF YOUR CIRCLE/RANGE OFFICER DEMAND ANY DOCUMENT THAN SUBMIT THE SAME
3. NO YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT HARD COPY TO THE DEPARTMENT BUT WHEN YOUR RANGE/CIRCLE OFFICER DEMAND THE SAME YOU ARE REQUIRED THE SAME.
BENAFIT OF ONLINE RETURN IS THAT WE ARE NOT INTRACT WITH DEPARTMENT

07 July 2011 1. There is no additional documents are required to attached with ST-3 unless untill some specific adjustment are doing in the return.

2. No additional documents are required to attached with ST 3 in case first time filing return.

3. If you received ack. copy of submitted return from ACES, then no need to file hardcopy, if error comes and difficult to upload ST3 then you required to submitted to regional centre.

4. Yes you can pay challan manually trough challan GAR-7 and file online return.
