Should I file monthly or quarterly return?

19 July 2008 We are preparing accounts and return for the branch of a trading company, trading in beauty products.

Its monthly TO is 8-10 lacs (Appx.).

We are filing monthly requrns.

Cant we file it quarterly?

And how late filing charges should be calculated?

22 July 2008 you have not mentioned State where the company/ firm liable i.e. registered under VAT laws. i am assuming you are in Delhi so, there is a slab of turnover to file return i.e. if TO upto 10lacs, a dealer may file yearly return, upto 10 to 50lacs half yearly, 50 to 5 crores quartely and more than 5 crores monthly
