18 March 2010 We are planing to transfer some of the shares of A company to B company and C company on back dated suppose on 26 Oct 09. We have arranged share transfer form, but I would like to know while paying stamp duty whether there will be any problem as the same is backdated.

Kindly advise me on this matter

18 March 2010 Are the company's listed? Form7C has a validity date if u can get it stamped without any hassels from the stamping auithority fine go ahead.

18 March 2010 Share transfer form is Form 7 B ,and not 7C, as per section 108(1A).

19 March 2010 As you have mentioned that you have arranged share tran deed of back date. Now if you want to pay consolidated stamp duty from back date it is not possible.

However if you pay stamp duty by purchase of revenue stamp then there should be no problem.
