Sett off service tax

31 August 2012 Sir,we have service tax liability only on payments made to GTA & nowhere else.I want to know whether we could sett off our service tax liability with input service tax on our any other bills?

31 August 2012 No, you cant utilise cenvat credit balance to pay off GTA liability.

05 September 2012 All the reverse charge services have to be paid by cash in a separate challan, including GTA though the service code is same for all services.

After payment, eligible reverse charges paid challans can be taken as cenvat documents to pay your output tax service.
