Whether is it possible to get set off of VAT paid on Imported Material

Yes you can get VAT setoff against your additional duty

You have to first pay the the VAT ,the SAD paid can be taken as refund from the customs for which there are certain requirement which have to be completed(For detail you can check circular issued by CBEC in this regard)
