if there was a short term capital loss in last financial year and it was carried forwarded at that time now this year there is STCG and return is filed after due date. Is it possible to set off last year's STCL in this situation

Loss return should be filed in time. However the return to set off the c/f can be filed belatedly. So it is possible to set off last year's STCL in this situation.
