12 September 2011 sir,

working in MNC at Maharashtra. i have a question regarding availment of vat set-off.

one supplier is supplying us cylinder (co2, nitrogen etc ) which we are using in production. supplier is giving separate invoice of rent for cylinder where he is chrging 12.5% VAT.

Can i avail vat set-off on rent which he is charging us?

12 September 2011 brother first you yourself need to be clear about the case
actually you are consuming the gas on which if VAT are charged for supply of CO2 cylinder.
Moreover, the company also charges rent for cylinder on which VAT should not be charged. VAT of CO2/nitrogen cylinder can be utilised for VAT
