28 January 2012 A client of mine is provided commercial construction services in the defence area.. Is he liable to charge ST from the service recepient i.e. The Indian Army ??

29 January 2012 there is no scope of exemption for defence area, unless the work order contain any specific exemption notification for the purpose.

29 January 2012 See.. He has been allotted a contract to build parking area for their aeroplanes ( hangers )..
It should anyways be exempt as construction of airports.. But can we also say that the army is not going to use the hangers for commercial or industrial purposes so it is not taxable under this service ??
