Service tax ssp exemp query

28 May 2013 During the course of departmental audit it was observed that the service provider didnot claim SSI exemption for the first three quarters , but he claimed the same in the last quarter.....but deptt has raised objections and demanding differential tax ...... Please suggest any remedy available to challenge the audit objection?

28 May 2013 No. Service tax exemption once opted out you cannot opt again, since you are not opted first 3 quarters cannot opt 4th quarter. need to pay the tax only
