Excel utility to file Service Tax Return is not available for July, 12 to Sep, 12 at Service Tax Site.

Please tell me when it will be available or how can we file ST Return for 2nd Quarter. Also tell me what's the last date of filing return.

25 July 2025 For the Service Tax Return of the 2nd quarter (July 2012 to September 2012), here’s what you can do:

1. **Excel Utility Availability:**
Sometimes the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) portal takes time to upload the latest ST-3 Excel utility for the relevant period. Usually, the utility is made available a little after the quarter ends.

2. **Filing Without Excel Utility:**
If the Excel utility is not yet available, you can file the return online directly on the ACES portal ([https://aces.gov.in](https://aces.gov.in)) without the Excel utility. The online form will allow you to enter the data directly and generate the XML for submission.

3. **Last Date for Filing:**
The last date for filing the quarterly Service Tax Return is typically **25th of the month following the quarter end**. So, for July to September 2012, the last date was **25th October 2012**.

Since this is for FY 2012-13 and the deadline has already passed, you should file the return as a **belated return** on the portal. The system will accept it with late fees or penalties applicable, if any.
