I want to know that what is the procedure for taking service tax registration in the following situation.
An individual want new service tax registration as he has decided to start Movers & packers business. For registration what documents he required?. He want to open new business in the Name of XYZ & Associate's (proprietor firm)Can PAN alloted to him in the capacity of individual be used for service tax registration.
Further this he has to applied for the registration online or offline.

Please respond me ASAP.

29 October 2011 1) PAN card of proprietor.
2) Address proof
3) Rent agreement if any.
4) Apply online through www.aces.gov.in

29 October 2011 Thanx for your quick response. I want to know further more. Firstly individual has to take PAN no.for firm name, after that he can apply for service tax registration.

29 October 2011 In case of Individual, PAN will be allotted in the name of individual only. Take PAN as I said and apply online for ST registration in individual name.

29 October 2011 But if individual wants to start business in other name as XYZ & Co. than PAN of individual will be acceptable or not.

29 October 2011 an individual can operate any number of business without limit, however every such business serparete service tax number would be issued as PAN.....SD001/SD002/SD003 and so on. on same pan card.
