We are in the manufacturing of automobile components. We have given our factory Building on Rent @ 1.5 L per month.
whether service tax on Rent on factory Building is applicable? If yes, then from when it is applicable.

Dear Sachin,
The Renting Services are taxable from 01-07-2010 and the levy of tax on the renting is upheld by the Delhi High Court in the case of Home Solution Retails(India)Ltd V/s union of India(2011)33 STT 95.
From 01-07-2012 the same has been included in the declared Services to avoid any kind of dispute.
