Service tax on compurized weigh bridge

20 September 2013 hello,

i have a computerized weighbridge having collection more than 10 lakh for the year of 2012-13.... but i didn't get registered in service tax as in this year collection is very less ( as we can say 30-40k per month)

so please advise should we get registration in service tax and if i get registered.... can we surrender our service tax number in current financial year..

one thing more should we required to do the audit from ca firm on the collection of 11 lakh.

20 September 2013 In the financial year 2012-13 after 10 lakhs you need to pay service tax and current year you are not eligible to get again 10 lakhs exemption. You should registered under service tax and pay the service tax.

20 September 2013 I agree with Mr. Arun Kumar Singh. You can avail benefit of VCES for the period upto 31.12.2012. for the period from 01.01.2013 to 3.03.2013 pay the service tax with interest and file the return with penalty.
for the period 01.04.2013 to 31.08.2013 pay the service tax with interest and continue paying service tax on ward till 31.03.2014.
If your turnover for F.Y. 2013-14 remains below 10 Lakh and notification 33/2012 continues you shall be eligible for exemption in F.Y. 2014-15
