Sir
Service tax levied on renting of immovable property in 2010 budget with retrospective effect from 01.06.2007.
Is it the same case with "Rent on Vacant Land". If not give me the details.

Service tax will not attract for letting out of vacant land in the following cases.
(a) vacant land solely used for agriculture, aquaculture, farming, forestry, animal husbandry, mining purposes;
(b) vacant land, whether or not having facilities clearly incidental to the use of such vacant land;
(c) land used for educational, sports, circus, entertainment and parking purposes.

But the Vacant land is given on lease and constructed building for commercial use...
