Comay XYZ paid consultancy charges on consultancy from other comapay. other company also charges service tax on the bill. My quires is that :
Either XYZ company can take the credit of payment of service tax on consultancy charges.
Subject to that the company is dealing with excise item but company is not availing the benefit of excise paid on input because company is not manufacturing comapany.

Since the taxable service provider can avail the Input CENVAT on services.
You are telling you are dealing with excise goods but not manufacturer. so I understood you may be a 1st stage or 2nd stage dealer
Such as case you may not avail the same

I thought since you are not manufacturer, should be service provider.but you are dealing with goods and I modified my reply
