04 June 2011 WE ARE GLASS PROCESSING MANUFACTURE UNIT AND VERY REARLY PROVIDE GLASS INSTALLATION SEVICE ALSO

TURN OVER OF SECOND SERVICE IS BELOW 1 LAC

PLS. HELP

1. ARE WE ELIGIBLE FOR S. TAX REGISTRATION?

2. WE PAY 2.5% S. TAX ON FREIGHT (CHARGED ON OUR SALE INVOICE) FORM MY FRIST SERVICE.

04 June 2011 Since you rarely provide service and alsothe turnoveris bellow Rs. 10 lacs so you are not elligible for ST Registration.

04 June 2011 1) when your taxable Service exceeds 9 lakh you your liable to registration and exceeds 10 lakhs you have liable to pay service tax.
hence your Service is not exceeded the limit you need not to registration

2) when you come to Second question As per my knowledge, when you are paying the service tax on freight you need to registration for service tax when the service receiver pays service tax.
