Service tax
if the transportation charges paid to Goods transport agency and consignment note is issued then you have to pay 3.5% of the transportation charges under reverse charge
For transportation charges received ST will be paid the party who pays pays freight to GTA
VAT
For the transportation charges paid you need not to worry because it is the burden of the suppliers who bills you
For the transportation charges receivable if it is billed in the goods invoice itself then VAT to be charged
If the separate invoice is raised for transportation then no need to charge VAT
