Service tax % at present is 12.36% on various services which includes 12% service tax rate + 2%Education cess on service tax + 1 % Higher Secondary Education Cess on service tax.

SERVICE TAX % IS 12.36 ON ALL TAXABLE SERVICES INCL. EDU.CESS AND HR. EDU.CESS.
THE EXEMPTION LIMIT AS INCREASED IN BUDGET 2008 IS RS. 10 LAKHS(FROM RS. 8 LAKHS AT PRESENT) WEF 01-04-08.
