Service on rent from commercial property

23 April 2012 what is the leagle position on service tax on rent from commercial property. and date of effect. (our claints are not paying service tax quaiting supreme court judgment).

24 April 2012 Service tax is payable on renting of immoveable property. Supreme court has also held the same. Now Finance bill 2012, has made provision for payment of service tax on rent outstanding as on 16.03.2012 without paying penalty. However interest is to be paid and this benefit is available if payment is made within 6 months.
