1. In service bill a company not provided service tax registration number on bill. is there any problem to that company ? and reg. no. is compulsory....?

2. what is the current Service Tax rates on Commercial and Industrial construction services, Construction of residential complex or Flat, Construction of Education Institute.

07 July 2009 Yes, there is a incorrect or incomplete information. As per service tax rules (Rule 4A), the reg number must be mentioned in the invoice/bill by every assessee who is proving taxable services. Under section 77 penalty upto Rs 5000 if there is any incorrect or incomplete info
The rate of service tax would be 3.4% (Notification No. 1/2006) on Commercial and industrial construction services, Construction of residential complex or flat, Construction of education institute. In case of works contract the service tax rate would be 4%
