14 May 2014 The company is involved in exporting unmanufactured tobacco mainly to UK. The exports are carried out through the Chennai Port. The amount of exports is about 300 containers every month. I wanted to know what is the procedure to apply for self sealing. How can the permission be obtained. What are the constraints behind it. The stuffing takes places through 3 or 4 warehouses located around the Guntur region.

23 May 2014 Any manufacturer-exporter can clear export consignment with self sealing and self certification vide CBE&C circular No. 736/52/2003-CX dated 11.8.2003.

23 May 2014 Yes but there is a lot of ambiguity in that circular as well. Is it applicable only for free shipping bills or also in cases where incentives are being seeked? Also if its for both purposes, is it mandatory to be under star trading house or export house nomination?
