pls tell that if we filed I.T.R. with payable amount shows in return then interest under section 234A payable for the period upto the date of payment of self ass. tax.

Yes, merely filing a return is not sufficient. You have to pay the due amount of Tax also. Interest will be leviable till the payment date.
