Sec 234e late fees filing query

When making payment for Fee under sec. 234E for Late Filing Fess what "Type of Payment" has to be selected in the challan, as this is mandatory. In the second quarter return that I have filled it has Contractor/Commission and Rent category. Do I need to bifurcate the Fee amount and make separate challan as per the category.

No need to bifurcate. Simply select any one section 194C, 194H or 194I and make the payment.

Sir,
I have received notice u/s234E and made necessary payment. When I revise the return and mention in the Fees Column amount i have paid and validate the file it generates the error "Challan should be within the F.Y". When I called up NSDL they asked me to contact Loacal Area IT Office. But no reply from them also. Please help me in this regard. 1. Is it necessary to revise the return with the FEE Amount. 2. If it is necessary then how to solve the above mentioned error.

No need to revise the return. Write a letter in reply of the notice attaching the copy of challan. Also mention therein that you are facing problems in revising the return.
