when sales tax reg no. is compulsory?? i mean to what is the exact limit when crosses sales tax reg no. is compulsory?

If a dealer is doing interstate/import/export/casual sales business there is no limit of sales turnover.In other cases it is Rs5 lakhs per year in many states. For voluntary registartion also no limit applies.This limit varies between different types of dealers ,like WCT,etc in some state Acts....mjk
