29 December 2010 salary paid to a director of a PVT ltd company is 50000/- per month. Rent free unfurnished accommodation, which is taken as rent for Rs.30000/- per month by the employer. What will be tax impact in the hands of director who enjoys the perquisite?.

31 December 2010 the director is a specified persion and as per the provison of the section 17(2) the value of rent free accommodation provided by the employer to employee shall be taxable in his hand(employee)and shall form part of his income under "salary head"
