17 March 2011 Sir,
We provide to employee 15000 Medical Reimbursement Against this he provide to us medical bills now it is exempt.
If he paid medical insurance premium 15000 u/s 80D then also this will be exempt??

17 March 2011 Exemption for reimbursement of medical expenses is covered by Section 17. While Section 80D covers medical insurance premium paid. Both are different in character also. Hence exemption u/s 17(2) for reimbursement of medical expenses (subject to conditions in that section) and deductio0n under section 80D for mediclaim insurance premium is allowed simultaneously.

17 March 2011 Yes. Provided the employee gives you all the supportings and the expenses and / or premium is incurred and / or paid by employee for himself or his family members as defined in section 17(2) and 80D.
