What are the possibilities of S.Debtors showing credit balance?

Some of the possible reasons could be >
1. Debtors have paid excess payment.
2. Sales return by the customers but amount not yet settled or returned.
3. Sales wrongly entered in other party accounts while payment received is recorded correctly.
4. Volume Discount or other discount paid later after period although payments received in full.
