Rpu 3.9 error

02 May 2014 I hv made my tds qtr-4 form24 & form26 by rpu 3.8.

My both returns got validated thru 3.8 without any error.

Now nsdl has releashed 3.9 which is mandatory.

My both returns thru rpu 3.9 are giving error "Invalid Tax deducted amount entered".

I hv searched too many times but could not find any error anywhere in my returns.

I am sure that there is some error in 3.9.

If anyone has used 3.9 successfully , please inform to me.

22 July 2025 Hey! The RPU 3.9 error “Invalid Tax deducted amount entered” is a common issue many have faced after migrating from RPU 3.8 to 3.9 for TDS returns.

Why is this happening?
RPU 3.9 has stricter validations and corrects some loopholes present in earlier versions.

Sometimes, minor discrepancies in tax amounts (like mismatches in totals, rounding errors, or incorrect breakup of deducted amounts) trigger the error.

Data that was accepted by 3.8 may now fail under 3.9 validation.

What you can do:
Check for rounding off errors in tax amounts in each challan and deductee detail.

Verify that the total tax deducted matches the sum of tax components (TDS, surcharge, education cess).

Cross-verify all fields related to tax amount — sometimes the format or decimal points cause errors.

Revalidate all challan details for correctness.

Try to generate the return again with a fresh upload of data, rather than importing older files.
