08 February 2013 whether the liability of service receiver under RCM is statutory or not? can he escape by the reason that he paid tax to service provider i.e, bill amount inclusve of service tax.

08 February 2013 Can not be escaped. But yes it can be a genuine source of argument that I have paid to service provider. (Normally the authorities ask for proof that the service provider has remitted the same.) This is equally disgusting.
