10 October 2013 when revenue stamp required ? if i am paid amt Rs. 500/- to any one then revenue stamp required ? what is the limit of revenue stamp.? pls refer about this deeply. Thanks to all...

10 October 2013 yes revenue stamp is required for if
payment is made in cheque and more
than 5000.One thing I would like to
clarify here that revenue stamp s
required on receipt not on payment so if
we are receiving a payment then that
receipt should be stamped and only
stamped receipt is valid in law

Section 2(23) of the Indian Stamp Act,1899 makes it mandatory for affixing of revenue stamp on any receipt ,as defined therein, above Rs 5,000.
