Sir I had filed online return in Form ER-1 for manufacturer for 1st quarter of 2011-12. But i had not submitted any document manually to Excise Office. At that time physical verification was pending.
Now I am going to online file ER-1 for the next month. Is it necessary to submit acknowledgment at the excise office?
Please help.

Not mandatory to submit hard copies to department, its optional.
if you have paid duty by GAR 7 challans, then submit the copies with return, in case of online tax payment, its also not required.
Physical verification is dispensed with audit programs where the department initiate audit of the assessee once in 5 years on selective basis, where the audit party does the physical verification of records, and if any deviation found, they report the same to Range, who issue scn to the assesee for compliance.
