03 April 2013 Sir,

i had filed form 2 LLP agreement dated 14/03/2013 on e stamp paper of Rs. 100. Now i have received mail for resubmission for the same asking for paying 1% stamp duty to state govt. Now please let me know how can i pay stamp duty now? contribution of the LLP is 50K. should i pay Rs. 400/- to State Govt. but how?

21 July 2025 Regarding your LLP Agreement resubmission and stamp duty payment:

Stamp Duty Amount:

Stamp duty on LLP Agreement depends on the state where the LLP is registered.

Usually, it's a percentage of the contribution amount. For ₹50,000, if the rate is 1%, then ₹500. But it can vary by state, so confirm with your state's stamp act or local authority.

How to Pay Stamp Duty Now:

You cannot add stamp duty by simply affixing more e-stamp after filing.

You need to pay the stamp duty to the respective State Stamp Duty Department through their prescribed mode (e.g., online payment, visiting treasury office, or e-stamping portal if available).

Obtain a receipt or stamp duty certificate for this payment.

Resubmission of Form 2:

Once you pay the required stamp duty and get the receipt/certificate, you need to upload the updated LLP Agreement along with the proof of payment in the resubmission form.

Follow the instructions received in the mail for resubmission carefully.

Steps to take:

Visit your State's official e-stamping website or the Stamp Duty Department.

Check for online payment or procedure for stamp duty on LLP agreements.

Pay the applicable amount.

Keep receipt for filing.

Re-upload Form 2 with updated documents.
