21 February 2008 Hey people i know it is quite weird but can anyone suggest that if i wish to open a shop (sole proprietorship) in Delhi (jewellery's shop).What will the formalities to be fulfilled and what registrations will have to be taken.Please suggest.Its quite urgent.

22 February 2008 There is no special registeration for properietor ship. You maintain records and apply tax related to industry and pay Income Tax at last

04 March 2008 Hello Mr. Nand. In connection with ur query, i wish to mention the following points:

1) Apply for PAN & TAN
2) Apply for (CST & VAT)/TOT registration.
3) U need to get registered ur shop under Delhi Jurisdiction Municipality as well.
4) Having started ur business, u have to comply with other formalities as well as per Income tax Act,1961 and other applicable Acts
