10 September 2014 Sir I want to ask that ..whether service tax is to be deducted on the Repair of plant and machinery .
Is there any other things that we have to check while auditing such expenses.

10 September 2014 only when the service providor have crossed the limit of 10 lakhs

10 September 2014 In case of works contract entered into for maintenance or repair or reconditioning or restoration or servicing of any goods, service tax shall be payable on seventy percent. of the total amount charged for the works contract.
Reverse charge applicable if service provider is individual, huf, firm and the service receiver is company.
