Rent payment

This query is : Resolved

09 March 2014 Dear experts,
I just wanted to know if it is alright to pay
Rent on a yearly basis, i.e. Rent for the whole year at a time on 31.03.2014 by cheque and deduct and deposit TDS without attracting interest?
So far the rent has neither been paid nor credited to landlord's account.
Awaiting your reply.....

09 March 2014 if as per rent agreement, rent is payable on monthly basis, then what you are doing is wrong. the entries in the books can be disregarded specially where the entries are being used to evade taxation provisions.
