21 December 2012 If rent payment is below or equal to 1,80,000/- then no tds is applicable. Is it correct? Is there any provision regarding service tax deduction on rent payment?

21 December 2012 The first line of question is very clear and the answer to that in that case it is not required to deduct TDS in that case.. your question regarding service tax is not clear...pls elaborate the same...

24 December 2012 Dear Friend Service Tax is payable only when you have crossed the thershold limit as prescribed.You have to register for the same and when total amount of rent pair or received is increased during the year Rs. 10.00 Lakhs then you are liable for service tax.

25 December 2012 Yeas, if your rental receipt is more than 10 lakhs you are liable to pay service tax, as per your details it is below 180000 the question of service tax does't arises.As per tds you are not liable for deduction as it is below 15000 per month
