Mr Author, In each state there will be an application form for registration.Now, in most of the states it is done on-line also.You have to open the concerned web site of VAT in your state and submit details such as address, status,type of activity,etc and also upload required documents as sought in the web site application.Or do it manually. An officer or an inspector of the area VAT office will verify/inspect the premises and records and accept the registration fee.Some security deposit also have to be paid depending on the size of business undertaken.Within a day or two a registration certificate will be issued with a TIN no.
