How to Register an NGO in Punjab — Step by Step

Step 1: Decide the Type of NGO
Usually, NGOs are registered as one of the following:

Society (under the Societies Registration Act, 1860)
Trust (under Indian Trusts Act, 1882 — for private trusts)
Section 8 Company (under Companies Act, 2013 — for non-profit companies)
Step 2: Choose the Mode of Registration

Step 3: Documents Required
Common Documents:

Name approval letter for NGO name
Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Rules & Regulations or Trust Deed (depending on NGO type)

A) Registration as Society in Punjab
