20 July 2025 If you have two GST registration numbers and wish to cancel one, you can do so online through the GST Portal. Here's a step-by-step guide:

✅ How to Cancel a Duplicate GST Registration Online
Log in to the GST Portal
Visit https://www.gst.gov.in and sign in using your credentials.
Navigate to the Cancellation Section
Go to Services > Registration > Application for Cancellation of Registration.
Fill in the Cancellation Form (GST REG-16)
The form has three tabs:
Basic Details: Verify and update your contact information.
Cancellation Details: Select the reason for cancellation (e.g., duplicate registration) and provide the necessary information.
Verification: Declare that the information provided is accurate and submit the form using either DSC or EVC.

Submit the Application
After submission, the system will generate an Application Reference Number (ARN).
Track Application Status
You can monitor the status of your application by navigating to Services > Registration > Track Application Status and entering the ARN.
📌 Important Notes
Final Return Filing: After cancellation, you must file a final GST return (GSTR-10) within three months.

Outstanding Liabilities: Ensure all dues are cleared before applying for cancellation.
