This query is : Resolved

19 July 2009 i am in engineering &construction bussiness up to now my turn over had beenonly 4 lacs now iam likely to finalise adeal of approx 26 lacs . when shalli get registered for service tax and shall icollect the service tax from exiting coustmer and where how to deposite it incase idont get the aforesaid order what shallido with that amount thanks tiwari

19 July 2009 You dont need to get registered at this stage. Once you get the order and your turnover exceed 9 lakhs, you can get yourself registered and start paying ST after a turnover of Rs. 10 Lakhs.
There is no need to collect ST from exisiting customers, as you will not be required to pay ST for services provided for turnover below 10 Lakhs.

20 July 2009 once u exceed Rs.9 lacs....u hav to register with in 30 days.....and u have to collect ST once u touched 10 lacs....so who ever paid u from 10,00,001 onwards u hav to put ST on them....
