regarding tution fees

24 February 2010 dear all plz describe me that rather -payment of computer fees,lab fees and liabrary fees paid every month ,rather it will be deducted as tution fees u/s 80c or not.

24 February 2010 In Sec 80c it is specifically mentioned that deduction will be granted on payment of tution fees only i.e. fees collected by institution as tution fee.
as u have mentioned fees paid as computer fees, lab fees and liabrary fee are not allowed under income tax act

02 March 2010 only tuition fee and it should be for a full time course.

28 July 2010 "(xvii) as tuition fees (excluding any payment towards any development fees or donation or payment of similar nature), whether at the time of admission or thereafter,

(a) to any university, college, school or other educational institution situated within India;

(b) for the purpose of full-time education of any of the persons specified in sub-section (4) "

"(4) The persons referred to in sub-section (2) shall be the following, namely:
(a) ......................
b) .......................
c) for the purposes of clause (xvii) of that sub-section, in the case of an individual, any two children of such individual."
