what is Rg-1 & Rg23

26 May 2010 Dears,
RG-1 means "Register of Goods No.1" in which Production and sales entries are posted on day to day basis for each product.
RG-23 means "Register of Goods No.23" But in this, there are four different category 1) RG-23 A Part-I--> For accounting of Receipt of Raw material 2) RG-23 A Part-II--> for availment of Cenvat credit of Input material.3) RG-23 C Part-I--> For accounting of Receipt of Capital Goods 2) RG-23 C Part-II--> For availment of Cenvat credit of Capital Goods.
These all are called as "Statutory Excise Records".
