25 October 2025 Yes, Form 29B is required to be filed if the company’s net profit as per Schedule VI (now Schedule III) of the Companies Act is less than its book profit computed under section 115JB of the Income Tax Act. Consequently, Form 29B becomes mandatory to certify that the company’s “book profits” are correctly calculated under section 115JB.
