suppose we issued a cheque for Life Insurance Premium in favour of LIC on 26 march, 2010 and the cheque is cleared on 04/04/2010 then in such a case do we get deduction in A/Y 2010-11?

Check the date of LIC premium reciept. if it is before 31st march 2010 than you can get deduction in AY 2010-11.
