I just want to know that if we getting a consultancy bill. And he/she is not register under Service Tax even he/she not charging Service Tax on the bill.

Now tell me weather my company is liable to pay Service or not. If yes than what percentage we give me yours valuable suggestion.

19 September 2013 Your company is not liable for service tax in such a case except where bill is for legal service from an individual advocate or firm of advocates.

19 September 2013 A person who is helping our marketing department in getting business. we are getting bill for Rs-33333/-. but he is not charging Service Tax in the bill. He do not have STC No. Now tell me we are liable for Service Tax payable or not. If Yes than what percentage of ST we have to pay.

20 September 2013 No, you are not liable to pay any service tax. It is also not your duty to ensure registration or payment by a person providing service to you.
