08 May 2012 Sir,am giving loaders on hire basis to a plant.i unaware of service tax earlier.now got service tax no recently.for me service tax applicable?if so i start pay ST now then can i asked for previous years tax too ?please give detailed reply..

08 May 2012 Servie tax regn is required if income exceeds 9 lakhs in d current year. Liability arises if it exceeds 10 lakhs.

If in the preceeding year income exceeded Rs 10 lakhs then u have to charge ST in the current year.

charge service tax of previous years in current year and deposit together with interest @ 15% p.a. on daily basis....... i.e. number of days of default divide by 365
