Refund of exempted payment

25 April 2012 Hi,
we are paying service tax on proceesing charges for peanut decorticating unit. later found that, as per the notification no14/2004, we are exempted to service tax on this processing fee.
the issue now is that, we have paid service tax for last 1.5 years without aware of this exemption notification. what is the proceedure for getting this refund. is there any time period within which we should apply? pls englighten me on this.
