Refund due from income tax department

25 August 2011 Refund is due to an individual ( my friend at UK) for the Assessment year 2008-2009 to the tune of Rs.65000/-

The problem is, he has lost the acknowledgement of the return filed. The only document we have is Form 16 given by the employer.

He , after filing his return in india moved to U.K and so he could not follow up the refund due . There is also a possibility that the refund cheque could have been delivered to the address, in which he was residing at hyderabad.

Now, what is to be done to get the refund amount from the IT department. Please suggest.

thanks for your reply.
he has no idea as to in which ward he filed the return. The return was filed in hyderabad. So, to whom should we address the letter?

27 August 2011 thanks Mr.Suneel. I have found the jurisdiction . So, i will send a communication to the concerned jurisdiction, as suggedted by Mr.Anoop. Will this jurisdiction apply to the return filed during 2008? Anyways, let me try sending my communication to this jurisdiction.
