16 February 2010 I had filed return for Income tax for 16000 but refund amount is only 800 what can i do to ask them to recheck

16 February 2010 with income tax refund, income tax assessment order is attached always. in which all details like , income which you have assessed in filed return, income which is assesssed by ITO . Tax on the basis of income assessed by ito. tax refunded to you. If you have not received it, then you can ask by IT Department for it.

16 February 2010 If u are sure that there is a mistake in the assessment order/intimation u/s 143(1) received by u along with Rs.800/ refund check, file a rectification application u/s 154 before your assessing officer pointing out the mistake and seek a rectified order along with the check for the balance refund amount.
